The ‘I guess he didn’t’ followup award: Jack for not only invading another foreign consolate but getting captured by another foreign government again. And this after the first time completely ruined the last five years of his life.
An excellent Jack episode for all of the right reasons.

I almost forgot:
Most guest appearances in season 6: The fan phone number! For the fourth or fifth time this season, a character pimps the fan phone.

Nice addition to the countdown. I love these articles! Keep up the good work!
Is anyone else excited to see that Aaron will be returning in the next episode?
March 6th, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Please note that Kari Matchett (Vice President Powers Boothe’s Secretary) is, in fact, an alien. Her real name is Dr. Mariel Underlay. Expect to see MUCH more of her in future episodes.
March 6th, 2007 at 4:39 pm
“he ‘He finally learned his lesson award’: Jack for putting his phone on vibrate during a stealth mission! Yes!”
Have to agree with that. It’s been like cringe fully stupid in previous seasons NOT switching your ring off when you’re trying to sneak places.
March 6th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
‘Who Knew’ Award: Tie between Jack and Morris, both for knowing Russian;
‘Drag Queen’ Award: Jack, for looking like his lipstick was smeared a bit in that last scene.
March 6th, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Most Trusting Dummy award goes to Reed for getting fooled by Tom again and again and again.
Fastest Recovery award goes to Denethor/Markov for getting up and being able to punch Jack merely seconds after getting punched multiple times in the face and losing his finger. Simply amazing.
March 6th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
The Pepto-Bismol Award goes to Tom Lennox for being able to control his bowel movements whilst being grilled by the terrifyingly formidable and unbelievably frightening VP.
Like, really, even *I* was about to sh*t myself during that scene…
March 6th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
Where the hell did JB think he was going after he finished interrogating Markov? “Thanks, you’ve given me the information I needed, now I’m gonna walk to the door with a bomb in it, behind which your security forces and the rest of the russian embassy are waiting.”
Have to disagree with Powers Boothe being the scariest VP ever btw.
March 6th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
Dude, this $hit is hilarious man, keep it coming!
March 6th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
You should award some points to President Palmer for not whispering once in this episode.
Of course it’s product placement, but… the few times I’ve waited at an airport they played some modified CNN channel, so maybe Karen Hayes had to use her sweet phone to watch her favorite news channel.
March 6th, 2007 at 10:43 pm
+ 5 more to Powers Booth for having an attractive assistant. She’s no Nadia, but good for him.
March 6th, 2007 at 10:50 pm
“Have to disagree with Powers Boothe being the scariest VP ever btw.?
Surely you don’t mean in the 24 universe. I mean, which 24 VP was scarier than the current one?
But yeah, the way Jack Bauer got caught had me a bit confused. I mean, even assuming that he *didn’t* know there was bomb waiting for him on the other side, (which is a fair enough assumption) did he think he would be able to just walk out the door without, y’know, being riddled with bullets?
The writers could’ve definitely thought that out better…

Sadest person award : goes to the Russian consulate, who cannot smile at all. Heck, when he tries to, all he actually manages to do is smirk and sulk at the same time with a smidge of hatred!
March 7th, 2007 at 8:13 am
That Russian consulate had the weirdest voice. He sounded and looked like a toad. I agree with S.A.M. about giving point to VP for the attractive assistant.
March 7th, 2007 at 11:01 am
Very excited for the return of Aaron Pierce next week! Way to go Martha, for snagging someone almost as great as Jack Bauer.
March 7th, 2007 at 11:22 am
Why does the VP have so many points? He’s a sinister asshole. He wants to lock up every arabic person in the U.S. HELLO Japanese camps all over again - didn’t we learn our lesson the first time?
Is there a tally of every character somewhere to look at? This one has the characters that did something in this episode’s points, but where is a conglomorate of all the characters?
March 7th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Nevermind, found it.
March 7th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
How about some points to Karen Hayes for taking back her resignation so she can take on that scary VP “Cy.”
March 7th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Some people think the VP isnt the scariest VP ever??? Imagine if Curly Bill Brocius - the leader from Tombstone’s Cowboys’ gang - suddenly became VP of the United States because that’s what just happened.
Most Disturbing Face Twitch Award - The Russian Consulate…His left cheek had a 5 minute seizure.
March 7th, 2007 at 3:44 pm
Just a reminder for the new people, or people that don’t know what quite goes on here.
Whenever someone is added to the Countdown, they start out with 100 points regardless of who they are. So, Exodous that’s why VP Powers Boothe has a lot of points. This is the first time he’s been in the Countdown and he started off with 100 points.
March 7th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Aaron Pierce is coming back next week? Excellent!
(The comment about the Veep not being the scariest ever was just a bad joke about you-know-who. If VP Powers shoots Tom Lennox in the face I’ll reappraise though.)
March 8th, 2007 at 10:45 am
I thought jack should have lost more than 12 points for letting his gaurd down. That was horrible of him… he just finds out that the location of three nuclear bombs, and then just walks into a trap, that he knows is there… however, now that he is caught, i have to admit i’m very excited about what this means for upcoming episodes.
March 9th, 2007 at 8:00 am
I think the Veep’s secretary should get some points too. Ok, she’s sorta new, but she had some good screen time and was all over Veep. I wonder if she’ll wise up about the plan. I mean isn’t the Veep involved in this entire assassination attempt? If not, who?
March 10th, 2007 at 11:56 am
This season needed the lesser Palmer to get removed by any means necessary. How is he not in negative points for failure to do anything right? And Nadia - are you serious? At this point she should be getting interrogated for aiding terrorists!!
Give this season another shot of adrenaline like it had at the end of episode 12 and bring on Ricky Schroeder for episode 13!!!!
March 12th, 2007 at 5:08 am
Nice comment. Just one detail:
- “Cajones” means “drawers” in spanish.
I think you meant “Cojones” which means
“Balls” or “Bollocks”
Greetings
March 12th, 2007 at 8:51 am
OH, thanks Spaniard!
March 12th, 2007 at 11:42 am
On the phone a lot award: Every time they showed Bill Buchanan he was on the phone. At least for the first 45 min of the show!
Great job Aaron!
