Army Wives on Lifetime
There are a few new shows out there on Lifetime, one of which is Army Wives. Have you caught it yet? What’s your take? The show is all about 5 families and how they get through life in the military. Yes, it has many up in arms over it but for the most part military families can definitely relate to a lot of the scenes. Let’s talk a little about the shows so far.
It’s main focus is on five spouses, four of which are female and one is a male. Yes, men are spouses these days and have to deal with their loved ones going away. Now in this show that couple does not have a child, at least not yet.
Denise and family: Denise is one of those perfect wives that all military wives wish they could be, that is until ya watch the show. Denise’s husband has been through a lot- with him getting deployed, lost, captured and brought back, but during this time so has she….her only child has been beating her while dad has been away. The son- the pride and joy- the one that was suppose to go off to Military School. But the family is torn when pops finds out and kicks him out. Mom doesn’t agree with the decision and is going nuts trying to find her son.
Roxy and family: Roxy was a single mother of two until this Army guy proposed to her after only knowing her for a week. The two get quickly married and move right on the base, where Roxy must learn what it means to be a military wife. Boy does she make some hiliarious mistakes as well. She also learns about the “Bad Wives” as well. Her husband, PFC. Trevor LeBlanc, was due to get shipped out until he tripped over one of the two boys and messed up his knee. Now he must stay behind, I can see the drama there.
Pam and family: In the first show Pamela is pregnant with twins, but they aren’t her babies. Her spendthrift husband loves his flat screen t.v.s, trucks and other toys way too much that his wife has had to become a surrogate to make ends meet. Once the “secret” babies are born they must finally come forward and let the town know they were never their babies to begin with and that no they never died. Now Pam’s husband is in a covert mission and she has no clue of his whereabouts and gets tempted by an old friend.
Roland and family: Roland is the male spouse in the group, his wife has just come back from deployment and has big issues. She’s got a very angry side to her and likes to drink a bit too much. She finally gets the help she needs but while she is gone, someone has stepped up to the plate. Will he be tempted?
Claudia and family: Claudia is the Head Military wife in this show and she’s trying to make sure everything is running smoothly between deployments, family life and her military friends. She must always look her best and show a pleasant side, as she is the wife to one of the highest ranking officers on post. But what happens when the life of her friends are effected by her husband’s decisions? Will she go along with him or against it?
Now I missed half of episode 7 because I fell asleep. Anyone catch it? I did see some and read updates but I would love a recount from someone that actually watched it.
I did see where Holden was trying to convince both his daughter and Jeremy not to date each other. Honestly, as a mother, I can see why he would do that. He only wants to protect his little girl. Course we all know what this will do, it’ll only bring her closer to Jeremy. That is unless they told her what he did to his mom. Did he?
As far as Roxy trusting her mom, I think it would be hard. It sounds like every time she did as a child she was let down. It’ll take a lot for her mom to prove it to her, this birthday party was one great step forward. Course I missed the party.
The next showing will be Sunday, July 29th. Episode 8 - Nobody’s Perfect This one is all about Pamela running into an old love and temptations. Man I really hope she doesn’t, currently her husband is away and she has no clue if he is okay or not. All the teasers state, “Someone will give into temptation.” Roland also meets an attractive female that shows an interest, so it could even be him. Remember, his wife has been away for a while trying to get help after coming back from war.
If any of ya would like to read some great recaps of each issue check out Napping at Red Lights. For those that may not have caught the very first episode here it is:
