Army Wives: Only the Lonely

by Eliza Ferree

Army Wives

This past Sunday was another good episode of Army Wives, but I still liked the previous episode better. But it did have a few shockers and I must state I’m happy to say it wasn’t Pamela that cheated. While I like the show I was believing they were just going to tear into us military spouses (female ones) and say we all just cheat when hubby is away. In “Only the Lonely” it was Roland that cheats and boy does he.

Roland is being interviewed for a book he wrote and he keeps talking about his wife, until the very nice and pretty reporter explains it is about him. There is a strong connection there and the fact that his wife isn’t around and her husband is serving overseas is bringing some sexual tension into the room. They are on the same wavelength and understand one another and spend the entire day together as she interviews him. Finally after all the “almost” hand touching scenes he drops her off and they talk about how they can’t do it, but then you see them in the bedroom scene. Ummm, yeah they can’t but they sure did.

As far as Claudia goes, I must say she’s in a sticky area…she knows if she doesn’t give her daughter a little bit of lee way then she’ll rebel and take off. Possibly never coming home again. I’m just waiting to hear that Amanda is pregnant, remember her and Jeremy made sure they made some lasting goodbyes that would stick in the memory forever.

Denise is distraught over her son, Jeremy, leaving for the military. She can’t talk with her husband as he’s put himself into that world that men go sometimes. She really can’t talk with her friends because none of them wouild understand and frankly the one she would’ve went to already let her know how she felt towards her boy. Imagine Claudia’s surprise after Amanda disappeared for the day to call her up from Denise’s house telling her she spent the day with her. I can see how they would though, they were both missing him and could share stories with one another. Amanda even convinces Denise to go back into nursing.

Claudia decides not to go on the family vacation and stays home with Amanda, hubby and their other daughter will go together. Probably a wise decision, especially since so far she’s really had no part.

Roxy meets a widow and quickly becomes friends, the widow’s child and her own children play together. When she shows up she finds out she is also extremely pregnant and due to move out in a day. In the military you are given 6 months to prepare your house to move out, she just couldn’t let go and finally when the military comes to make her leave her new friends help her through it.

What were your thoughts on the episode? Next week should be good, I’m wondering who it was Claudia killed. I’m thinking it was probably drunk driving and had an accident. What’s your guess?
