Casting Call: KidNation Aug 1

by Eliza Ferree

KidNation

KidNation is having a casting call on August 1 for their upcoming reality kids show. If you are near Crocker Park this could be your child’s chance at fame, or at least a little fun. At exactly 10:30 a.m. registrations will begin.

Be one of the first 400 kids to appear as they are guaranteed an audition, anyone else is just chance and time. Each interview will conduct of a two minute time in front of the camera answering one question: Why should you be on KidNation? Be prepared.

Only children between the ages of 8-15 will be allowed to join, there are a few other rules that you’ll need to read over first.

Can’t make it? That’s okay fill out the application and send your video to them.

What exactly is KidNation? It is exactly what it sounds, an entire town (nation) made up of children. They’ll take 40 kids and plop them in a make-believe town that they’ve already set up. Not to worry there will be adults there, but they won’t make the decision. Oh and unlike reality t.v. shows, no child is voted off at the end of the night. They are allowed to choose to leave if they become homesick or grow tired of it. The main focus is to see what they can learn and see if they can make a better tomorrow.

I don’t know, the press on this hasn’t been very positive! Apparently they made the kids work like 12 hours a day, and the contract the parents signed didn’t specify what the kids would be doing all day. Maybe they’ve changed it for the second casting call?

Is this the only casting call or will there be others around the US??

I watched every episode of Kid nation. I really liked the show. Hope there will be another season. My grandson, who is 10, would love to be there.
My youngest son, who is 31, says its his favorite show on tv now. Enjoyed it alot. Hats off to the kids, they did good.

  7. Roberta Shaffer Says:

I really loved the show. The last episode had me in tears. Those kids were amazing. If I were Taylor’s mother I would be very worried about what type of child I was raising. Being cute only gets you so far in life. She does not have good moral values (”I think only the pretty chickens should live and we should kill all the ugly ones”). Does she think this about people too?

  8. Roberta Shaffer Says:

I have an additional comment to make to the producers. I think it was unfair to have the council pick the last 3 gold star winners. This left them out of the running and I think Greg and some of the others should have received a star. It would have been better to have everyone vote (put a name in a hat or something). All in all, the kids were amazing. A good show.
