KidNation Director Strikes back

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Apparently the producer of KidNation has heard talk about his first show not being so great and has spoken up about it.

“I exchange e-mails with every one of these kids and they’re doing just great,” he said.

I know a reader mentioned the children working awful hours (labor laws), according to Tom Forman that is not the case. Of course, would he really be truthfully on something like that? I guess we’ll know if the children start talking. He even stated that the best location was New Mexico and no where else, not even California due to lack of labor laws.

X-Files to Become a Movie

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

X-Files

Did you ever watch X-Files the t.v. show? I remember this showing growing up, it scared the crud out of me. But now I love watching the old re-runs and can understand why X-Files was a hit. X-Files is now in talk about making an X-Files Movie part 2, so if ya liked The X Files Movie you’ll want to see it.

Currently there is no name to the X Files sequel, but talk is it’ll be released in 2009. David Duchovny, who played Agent Fox Mulder, has stated that fans wouldn’t have to wait long to see X-Files on the big screen once again. He’ll even be reading the script for it this upcoming week. I wonder if he’ll state what he thinks of the script.

Casting Call: KidNation Aug 1

Friday, July 20th, 2007

KidNation

KidNation is having a casting call on August 1 for their upcoming reality kids show. If you are near Crocker Park this could be your child’s chance at fame, or at least a little fun. At exactly 10:30 a.m. registrations will begin.

Be one of the first 400 kids to appear as they are guaranteed an audition, anyone else is just chance and time. Each interview will conduct of a two minute time in front of the camera answering one question: Why should you be on KidNation? Be prepared.

Only children between the ages of 8-15 will be allowed to join, there are a few other rules that you’ll need to read over first.

Can’t make it? That’s okay fill out the application and send your video to them.

What exactly is KidNation? It is exactly what it sounds, an entire town (nation) made up of children. They’ll take 40 kids and plop them in a make-believe town that they’ve already set up. Not to worry there will be adults there, but they won’t make the decision. Oh and unlike reality t.v. shows, no child is voted off at the end of the night. They are allowed to choose to leave if they become homesick or grow tired of it. The main focus is to see what they can learn and see if they can make a better tomorrow.

Any NBC Soap Fans?

Friday, July 20th, 2007

I’d really like to know if there were any soap opera fans out there. Please voice up, I’m even adding a poll for ya’ll to vote.

DOOL logoPassions logo

If you are a fan of an NBC soap which one? Days of Our Lives? Passions? Both are favorites and currently I can’t miss an episode of Passions. I’m very upset that both will be moving to direct TV this fall. I don’t know how I’ll watch it. I’ve watched Passions since it first aired, through all the Charity stuff, the beloved Timmy to now.

Which characters are your favorite? What do you want to happen?

Sammy

For DOOL- Bad girl, Sammy, ya know she tries so hard to be good but it’s just easier being bad.

Theresa

For Passions- Fate will win, Theresa, boy does this girl always think the best outcome will happen…even after all she’s been through. Boy, I just wish someone would spill the beans on the whole Little Ethan thing.

Joss Whedon is Coming Back

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

The Office

I heard that I have some Joss Whedon fans out there so I had to go out on a search for any new news about him and here is what I found. Ya may remember him as the creator of Buffy, but Joss Whedon is also known for directing in “The Office.”

To all those “The Office” fans, not to worry there will be a season four, in which Joss will be directing. They are hoping to get NBC Thursday nights, one of the best blocks of time in my opinion.

iF Magazine got to interview Daniels recently and this is what he had to say towards Joss:

“Joss is going to come back.

Course Joss won’t be the only one directing it, he’ll be sharing this role with J.J. Abrams.

Oh and something not totally TV related, it seems Joss is bringing Buffy the Vampire Slayer back to life. Not on the tv screen though, in the form of comic books, he’s carried it on from the last series.

An Introduction

Friday, July 13th, 2007

I realized after posting recently, that I never introduced myself! My name is Alice; I am a first year college student from New Hampshire. I am an avid fan of Law and Order and the Closer, although I pretty regularly watch CSI, and most other TNT crime drama. I will be posting regularly from now on, so please visit often!

UPDATE

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

I just want to apologize for the lack of updates recently. I’ve been sick with some mysterious illness (two trips to the university health center and two rounds of antibiotics and they STILL have no clue what the hell I had) for about three weeks and to top it all off, this week is finals/moving out week at my school. So that’s my excused absence.

Your regular posts will resume next week. I’ll be covering The Closer for sure, but I’m not decided on what else I’ll be covering during the summer.

Criminal Minds Schedule Changes

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

I went looking on the premiere Criminal Minds blog, Criminal Minds Fanatic (who admittedly have WAY more connections than little ol’ me) and found that “Doubt” will not air until next season.

That means we only have TWO episodes left of the season. “Legacy” and “The Evolution of Frank”, or as someone called it, “No Way Out Part II”.

Criminal Minds Schedule Changes

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Tonight’s Criminal Minds is actually going to be a repeat of “Jones”. But next week is going to be “Doubt”, which was originally going to be replaced tonight by “Open Season”. Guess who’s ba~ack….

Criminal Minds Schedule Changes

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Due to the Virginia Tech massacre, next week’s Criminal Minds episode will be “Open Season” instead of “Doubt”. The change is due to the material of “Doubt”, which is about women being murdered on a midwestern college campus.

I’ll keep you updated with any other changes as they occur.

A Sad Day

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Pretty much everyone’s heard of the Virginia Tech tradgedy by now. I don’t go to Virginia Tech, but I am a freshman college student. It’s a sad and somewhat uncertain time for those of us in college or who have friends in college. I don’t know if anyone I knew was killed or injured.

The loss of those killed weighs heavily on our hearts and our minds. So for today and possibly tomorrow, there will be no posts other than this.

Thanks for understanding,
Lindsay Stetler

24 Character Countdown Logo & Feature (In Development)

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

As you know I’ve talked a lot about this new feature that’s going to be coming to Watching 24. After every episode review, I’ll then post the points I have awarded or taken away from each character based on his or her merits or blunders.

Everyone will start out with 100 points depending on what they do, and how I feel their points will go up or down.

Example:
Jack starts with 100 points
-kills terrorist +10
-tells Chloe to shut up and do what she’s told +14
-actually listens to orders from division -7

Total: 117

Chloe starts with 100 points
-first scowl of the season -8
-stops killer virus infecting the CTU’s network +15
-watches poor Edgar die in a roomful of noxious gas released into CTU because the stupid fat hobbit didn’t want to appear moronic for losing his security pass -10

Total: 97

I’ll keep track the entire season. Hopefully everyone will have fun with this. I’ll still do reviews of every episode, but this will just be a way for all of us 24 fans to have a little fun with the most intense show on TV.

Also, I have a prototype of the logo for the feature, but I’m not sure about it. Keep in mind that I’m not a photoshop whiz like a lot of people are. But, here’s kind of what I had in mind. It needs to be cleaned up a little but you get the idea.

Again I’d like to thank Jess at Apropos of Something for the idea.

Also, the character’s pictures will be sized right, this is also kind of a test to see how everything will look.

What does everyone think?

Happy Birthday Kiefer!

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Today is the birthday of our favorite 24 actor Kiefer Sutherland.

He was born in London, England on December 21, 1966. Actor Donald Sutherland is his father. A little known fact about Kiefer was that his name at birth was Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland. Celebrities are always weird with naming their kids, but having 7 names, no thanks.

Now let’s take a look back at what Kiefer has done to get to where he is today. The first movie I remember seeing Kiefer in was Lost Boys (1987). It was a campy, cheesy vampire flick, which I hated. Then came Flatliners (1990) who he co-starred with Julia Roberts who was his fiancee. Then there were movies like Young Guns (1988), with Emilio Estevez which were just awful.

So, fine Kiefer’s career before 24 wasn’t all that amazing. But, then 24 came and Jack Bauer was born. Kiefer has carried the show through 5 seasons, with a sixth just around the corner. Jack Bauer has saved the world countless times. Kiefer has become a worldwide celebrity.

And on this special day, we here at Watching 24 would like to wish Kiefer a happy birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
