Fringe is Coming This Fall

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Will you be watching Fringe this fall? This is one of those shows that I won’t be missing out on, it was created by J.J. Abrams. Imagine a plane crashing but when everyone arrives on the plane to inspect it you are briefed that everything about it is Top Secret. No one believes what has happened is even possible and those that do want to keep everyone else from knowing.

The plane lands at the Boston’s Logan Airport, only problem is there are no passengers on board. FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) is asked to investigate the matter. The only person capable of helping happens to be institutionalized but he does have a son (Joshua Jackson).

For those of you that were ever a Pacey fan from Dawson’s Creek now is your chance to see him all the time. Course you won’t find Katie Holmes snuggling close to him.

This will be one of those TV shows you’ll have to keep watching, even if it scares the lights out of you each week. You’ll be coming back just to see what happens next.

Wednesday Night Shows

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

supernanny_228x314.jpgI think I slept through last night without watching any television shows. Well here is my pick for tonight, course I won’t be able to watch all of them so maybe some of you can and come back here to give your reviews. 6/7C ABC channel.

Top Chef- Guest Cheft Rick Bayless will get to help host the events and everything takes place at a neighborhood block party.

The Moment of Truth- It’s all about the truth, the deep, dark secrets that will tear a family apart. However this seems to be the thing everyone wants to see. 8/7C on Fox

Wife Swap- Gillete and Turners will switch families just for a little while though. One family are carnies while the other is more of a richie type. ABC

SuperNanny- What do you get when you have a wild bunch of kids and toss in a dad that is just the same? The Weinstein family meets with Jo tonight and it’s sure to be an event no one will want to miss.

Movies tonight: Parent Trap with Dennis Quiad or Three Men and a Baby with Tom Selleck on Family and Tom on TVL at 7p.m. Central Time

Stiller and Aniston Turned Down for 24

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

The folks over at TVSquad have a great story.

It seems that Jennifer Aniston loves 24, so much so she put her name in for the running as one of the guest appearances. Producer Joel Surnow, did one of the smartest things ever, and turned her down. He also turned down Ben Stiller, saying that they were “too recognizable. They’ll take you out of the reality.”

I agree wholeheartedly with Surnow’s decision. 24 is no place for Aniston or Stiller. Don’t get me wrong, I love Ben Stiller, and when he guest starred on Arrested Development as Tony Wonder, I almost died laughing. But, where would Ben Stiller fit in at 24? As a quirky terrorist? I don’t think so.

Aniston would’ve been an awful choice for the show, period. Bring back Mia Kirshner (Mandy) that would work.

24 Revolutionized TV

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

TV nowadays is very different from what it was like in the late 80’s or early 90’s. 15 years ago it was the age of the sitcom. You remember TGIF? Family Matters, Full House, Step-by-step, and even that crazy show called Dinosaurs. That was the TV of yester-year.

Today the “one-couch-sitcom is all but dead. Serial dramas like Lost, 24, and The Sopranos rule the airways. So, what happened to create the television landscape we see today?

Back in 2001 the first season of 24 premiered. It was a modest hit. Then the DVD came out which started selling like mad. In an interview with IGN in 2002 Kiefer said that the DVD sales, for 24, in the UK actually knocked Lord of The Rings out of first place, something totally unheard of in the TV/DVD world.
