CTU The Rookie–”What is this?”
Browsing through the TV.com forums I happened upon someone talking about a commercial that aired during a BCS game. The commercial, I guess, was advertising a web show that is called CTU The Rookie.
Head on over here to watch the trailer.
I just have one question, WHY? This is like that whole disappointing Dharma game that people played over the summer for more (useless) information on Lost.
I really hope this is a joke of some kind, because the trailer looks downright awful.
Deep Voice Man comes on explaining that this kid can shoot, and save lives, without even spilling a drop of coffee. It looks like it’s meant to be funny, but also it seems completely unnecessary.
Check it out see what you think.
I just signed up for the newsletter. I think that I will cover each stupid episode as they air.
Remember the hilarious catch phrase:
“Every CTU agent has to start somewhere.”
Please!

Dude!
Don’t you get it…He’s a serious CTU agent, but yes there is some tongue and cheek humor to The Rookie… Let’s not take ourselves too seriously! This is good entertainment that is developed to accompany 24 and look deeper into CTU… It’s not all about Jack! Have you seen the CSI or Law and Order Offshoots? Stay tuned as the series continues through May and the action starts to build.

It’s not a joke. The Gillete Fusion was the last sundry for Season 5, and this season it happens to be a deodorant. ‘The Rookie’ is just a marketing scheme for Degree, a subsidiary of Unilever. Degree happens to be one of those ‘extreme marketing’ products, hypnotizing us with skydivers eating medium rare steak trying to make a water landing in shark infested waters. It’s no different. But in terms of the actual episode and storyline, it doesn’t add up but just serves as a seasoning salt to augment Season 6. I give it a high five for originality but a big middle finger for the plot. A bank robbery? It better add up to something……
