Opinions on KidNation

Kidnation Judges Table

I see some have some very strong on KidNation, and I must add it does take a LOT to watch this show. After reading many reviews online and reading my comments on this blog I can see there are many opinions. So I’d like to take this opportunity to open this blog up…I want to read your opinions on KidNation. While it may not make the show stay on or go off the air it can give us a place to talk about it. So spill it!

What did you love about Kid Nation? What did you hate about Kid Nation? Favorite characters? Characters you wish were off the show, etc?

Read what viewers thought….

Cathy-
Kidnation should be investigated, and they should go ahead and pull it off the air for the remainder of the season. Kids are already growing up too fast these days and to put them in a relatively unsupervised situation and tell them to play ‘house’ is nothing short of child endangerment. I watched the first 2 minutes of tonight’s episode (10/3) and they had the kids in a bar room pretending to get liquored up. What kind of message is this sending to all the kids watching this. Parents, you should be up in arms over this show.

KidNation

The first episode was rather hard to watch when I saw all those children pushing crates (carts) and then another episode they played water games when you could already see that they were freezing. Small things bug me about the show as well as the bigger issues. I mean look at those lips, someone needs to keep them hydrated or toss them some chapstick. It’s also cold, why aren’t they given anything warmer to use?

Jim: Oh come on….Its just a show….There are a bunch of adults around. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch, but EVERYONE can learn something from this show!!

Jim- You are right it is just a show. My son actually loves this show, he’s ten. As for myself I get enough fighting at home with my own four I don’t really find that part fascinating. But the show has some entertaining moments for me, I basically watch it to have some one on one time with my 10 year old. We like to discuss the show and talk about how we’d do it differently. This is definitely a show that’ll be able to teach all of us something.

Katie: I would never let my daughter do anything like that, but I don’t really blame the show so much as the parents. They must have known the premis of the show and still chose to allow their children to participate. I also know that if my kid were on the show and thought they were being treated unfairly, she’d leave or raise hell about it! Good girl.

I agree 100%, my husband and I said that very thing. While yes they may be trying to protect themselves as a company, it really puts the rest of us adults reluctant. Course I’m the type of parent that couldn’t send my child that far away, I don’t care if they could get some college money.

Kidnation Taylor

SuperMOM: You know, even after watching this weeks “religion show - I was amazed these kids have not decided to “re-visit the town council leaders!

I mean, as soon as I saw next weeks preview (with the election) I just knew this was THE one we (in my house) were waiting for!

I can not wait for it!!!!

I could not believe the way she acted, talk about being spoiled. I sure hope she doesn’t act like that at home. Were you able to catch the election? I actually missed it so I’m going to head over to YouTube and catch it in a moment. Man I hope she was booted off council. For my readers, head on over to http://mommassocalledlife.blogspot.com/2007/10/kid-nation-taylor-queen-of-deal-with-it.html”>Mommas so called life and view her opinions on a Little Miss Princess.

What’s your take on the show? I’d love to hear your opinion. Send in your comments by clicking on contact me or leave them here as a comment and once a week this will become a routine thing.

Thanks for the link Eliza! I am so sucked into this show it is unreal! My boys (7 & 4) watch it with us each week and it is so funny see them get into it!

  2. Kara Says:

My three kids enjoy watching this show and the tough decisions that the kidnation kids are making in each episode. I like that it forces these children to use their own minds and deal with the consequences of their actions, plus they actually have to work hard! My kids can relate to the different characters and they discuss the pros and cons of each show. I see it as a great learning opportunity for participants and viewers alike.

My family absolutly LOVED Kid Nation!!! We DVR’ed every episode just in case someone in our home missed it. We laughed, we cried, we jumped to our feet in sheer excitement, and we sat on the edge of our seats in suspence. I’m telling you it was one fantastic ride from episode to episode..I think all kids out there could learn from this kind of experience. I Would love to send both of my beautiful, intelligent, teenaged (13 & 15) daughters to have such a grand adventure! And I know that they could succeed! And Sophia, if you’re reading this, you are my utmost favorite! YOU ROCK GIRL!!! Greg, you were an amazing young man! 15, and willing to do WHAT IT TOOK to be a brother to all the kids..I’m soo very proud of all of you!!It took alot for these kids to summon up their courage to leave home, let alone be able to create a society, Prepare meals, look after each other, and learn the value of a dollar, as well as themselves….WOW!! I would love to see a next season!! And to those of you who agree with me, YOU know true adventure.. And to those of you who don’t, JUST DEAL WITH IT!! ha ha ha

i lOVED kid nation. it was amazing to see a group of kids ranging from 5 to 15 take control of a place thye called banaza city. every week to see them struggle with decions and fight for their rights it was amazing!! and i just want to congradualte 3 kids. 1 Taylor.. I loved u… u were the most outspoken out of all of them and u kicked ass out there u were amazing and the preetiest. 2. zach.. u rocked that banaza u took charge and made sure evey body was in their place at all times when u were leader. 3. DK u are the most handsome boy i’ve ever seen and u r strong and will go a long way. There are a couple kids i didint like at all like laurel, sophia, and morgan.. i felt like they thought they were the best they were number1 and personlay i wanted them to lose every challenge bekauz they were way to stuckup. Imean bacnaza city was about making ti better and working together and laurel all u cared about was getting revenge on taylor, sophia all u cared about was getting notcied. it was sad to see the oldest tryingh to get attention over the youngest.
