Wildfire Recap
Last week on Wildfire, Jr ditched his bride at the alter of course some how it’ll come down to being Chris’ fault. But before he called it off he had to go save Chris and Wildfire when Wildfire escaped the ranch.
Chris starts the show off by riding Wildfire against Flame and of course the two really put on a show. Pablo of course is angry and storms away, letting Chris see how he feels towards her. Keep in mind he was the one that originally brought her to the ranch and she hurt him bad. It’ll take a long while for him to let him back into his good graces again.
Matthew gets a call about entry forms, he’s entering Flame into a race. Chris gets all excited and starts jumping all over him. Pablo and Matthew’s mom are talking about Chris. Matt asks Chris to ride Flame at the Dupont Stakes, but she still doesn’t have her rider’s license. Will she be up to her old tricks and do it anyways? Chris tries to get a petition going to ride Flame, Danny tells her she can’t sign it, but she explains the way she can get it. One way is to get Jane and Pablo to tell them what they think of Chris.
Junior and Danny are in a heated discussion as she tries telling him he needs to realize he’s in love with Chris. He tries denying it until Danny tells him it had to be because he’s in love, otherwise he’d never had called off the wedding. Later, Junior and his dad chat about how to get over the missed wedding and get his head into his Tunnel business.
Danny gets a top priority member of the racing board to allow her to be his horse’s vet. She’ll make sure everything goes smoothly with this horse. The man tells Danny that he is going to tell the board all about her clinic, which may help her get her racing license back.
Chris shows up at the ranch asking Jane if she’d sign a petition. Jean explains that she’s worried about her and asks if she really wants it, Jean signs away but doesn’t look very happy. “I hope you find what you are looking for. –Jean.
Pablo is in discussions with Ken Davis, he wants to know if Pablo will come work with him. Right after he leaves Chris shows up, Pablo says Jean just called him and told him and he is upset she didn’t go to him first. Akkk. She told Jean not to call him. Pablo says he won’t do it. Jean hears that Pablo didn’t sign and is curious as to why. She knows something is up but can’t figure out what it is.
Chris and Danny both show up at the racing board, Chris believes it is for her to race but she admits she is there for Chris. Danny explains she isn’t sure if she wants that life back but is more than willing to let Chris do it. Chris is called into the meeting and Danny leaves, inside she explains everything she is doing and tells them what she has done since then. The board is not ready to let her race, immediately her world is crushed. Matthew is at her side trying to tell her to go home, but she races in to the room and she is told that it was Congressman Nickels that made it so she will never get it back.
At the races Chris is talking to the jockey and telling him everything he needs to know, Matthew puts his arm around her and walks her to their seat. In the meantime Jean is talking to Pablo and tells him going to Ken Davis Farms would be a good thing for him. Matthew thanks Danny for putting her word in for Chris, Junior is telling Chris he’s sorry and wishing he could help her. Chris is depressed and on the verge of tears. Jean asks Matt is she is allowed in the Raintree box and together the group is back, except Pablo walks over into the Davis box. Ouch!
The horses are lined up and the gun goes off, Flame is slow and not listening to his rider. Chris knows there’s trouble but there is nothing she can do to help Flame, Flame is now in last place. Suddenly Flame is almost in the lead, he’s neck and neck with Tamarack, it’s back and forth and he wins. Woo hoo! It’s an emotional moment, a bit more for Chris who isn’t the one that rode him into the winner’s circle. Flashes of all her past races, wins and hugs from those that matter comes flooding back to her and she realizes something.
Matt tells his mom that he doesn’t want to do the racing without his mom because he knows she misses it. Even her brother tries to tell her she needs to race, that it is in her blood. Danny is given back her license for being unselfish and trying to make Chris a rider again. Chris tells Matt she can no longer work for him, she leaves the ranch and heads to Pablo and asks him why. Chris realizes that Pablo loves Jean and is upset that Chris hurt her in such a way, Pablo tells her she better promise not to tell. She’s shocked that he’s never told Jean and tries convincing him that he should do it. She begs him to come back to her life and apologizes. He reaches over and hugs her tight, tears rolling down his cheeks as he apologizes. Pablo excepts Davis’ offer and he heads back to the ranch but only to be stopped by Jean. She tells him she is so excited and that she is back in racing and wants him, but it is too late, he’s already gone. The two just stare, both knowing without saying.
Chris is in the barn with Wildfire telling him how proud she is. Junior shows up and explains he knows what she’s going through. Chris tells him everyone know that it was her fault that he called off the wedding, but to top it off because he left the congressman’s daughter, he made sure she’d never race again. The two are staring as Matt appears and everyone looks guilty.
